Much of this year we have been practicing writing summaries on pieces of writing. Over the next two days, students will take this to the next level by doing it mostly independently.
Students who miss today will need to print off and complete the 10 Percent Summary Prep WS on the reading "History of Mesopotamia." After they have completed this, they will use that framework to help them write their type 3 summaries on the article. |

Today students will be taking their end-of quarter test. Afterwards, students will begin working on their homework that is due on Thursday 10/25. Students who miss today should print out the History of Mesopotamia fill-in-the-blank WS and use the reading to answer the questions.

Today students are taking their Governments Quiz. Remember that this will be the last test/quiz grade for the first nine weeks. Afterwards, students have the opportunity for some extra credit by completing a crossword over vocabulary words throughout the entire 9 weeks. Students who miss today need to see me during home base to make up their quiz. You may also print out and complete the extra credit crossword and bring it in for credit.

I am so excited to get this year under way! Today students got a first look at what a regular day at Wilson Middle School looks like and they are really starting to get accustomed to it. Students also received their first homework assignment in the form of their syllabus from Mr. Head's class that they will need to take home, read over with their parents, and bring back signed. If you need another copy of that, it is located to the right. This is due by Friday, 8/24/18.
